From early on, football was more for me than just a sport: it was a school for life. Togetherness, discipline, learning to handle victory as well as defeat, these are basics in a functioning society.
It makes me happy that I am able to support Dibanisa. I think it is a great project, because values are instilled into children and young people, which will help them in real life.
It is more than a football school. It is where hope, an outlook for the future, education and a chance for self-determination in life join forces.
The Strahlemann Foundation, which I also support, is very successfully involved in education and equal opportunities for children and adolescents in my home country, Germany.
With “Dibanisa“, we now want to do the same in South Africa. There is a lot to do, way past the World Cup.
